Visualized Inspiration?

This month I have been contemplating what it is like to be authentic. It takes a lot of work to speak your truth and not succumb to the constant venting, finger pointing, and hating (and I am not even talking about politics). While it can be easy for wellness professionals like me to fall into toxic positivity by avoiding those negative traps, I refuse to do that. This past month, I had to do a lot of work to get to a positive state. My tools include self-hypnosis, hypnotherapy, sleep, moving my body, eating nutritious foods, getting time outside fully surrounded by nature, EFT and listening to and reading inspiring materials from others. Seems like a pretty great list of resources, right? AND there were times where that didn’t feel like enough to even get to neutral.
What we are going through is not easy. It can be overwhelming and sometimes unclear where to start. Luckily for myself (and now you too), I was inspired by two amazing women this month - Gabby Bernstein and Melissa Tiers. These two can make magic happen for you and those around you.
Melissa Tiers inspired me to remember the importance of visualization while reading her book Integrative Hypnosis. If you had a session with me you know the Grace Method of self-hypnosis. Visualization is a key part of the Grace Method Self-Hypnosis protocol. After you affirm the change you want, you see, feel, and experience the results you desire. I always tell my clients to enjoy this part, take their time and make it very real. Well, Melissa’s approach to self-hypnosis is a countdown of 10 opening and closing the eyes at each number and then spending the rest of the time visualizing what your life will be like once that change is made.
Can you do that now? Close your eyes and allow yourself to visualize a goal you have for yourself, your family, or your community. That’s right. On those days where that visualization doesn’t easily flow, follow the entire Grace Method self-hypnosis or Melissa’s count down above before you visualize. Really allow yourself to visualize the end-state of that goal fully achieved and enjoy the journey. Remember, we can only control ourselves so let the visualization really be your part of achieving that goal.
Gabby Bernstein inspired me to stay present and focus on the choices in front of me as I listened to her Audible original You are the Guru. This was written during the pandemic and couldn’t be more relevant to what we are all facing. I was moved during one chapter where she suggests letting the source, universe, or God (insert whatever your beliefs are here if I missed you) lead you in meditation to your one inspired action. She encourages her readers/listeners to not get overwhelmed by everything that needs to be done, but to allow those inspired actions to be in the present with you today.
Allow yourself to receive that inspired action for today, now. That’s right. You are doing great. Remember this is a process - a string of inspired actions that will lead to amazing transformation for you and those around you. Don’t judge, just act.
Imagine experiencing these two together on a more regular basis. Allow yourself to visualize the goal already achieved and then meditate to receive your inspired action for the day. Are you thinking wow, that is doable, even simple, easy, and effortless? If you are, you are right!
Being so overwhelmed with what is going on that you don’t do anything, isn’t going to help our current situation. We need to break free and act. Will you join in? Will you allow your month to be filled with visualizing a positive outcome and then completing your own inspired action each day? Close your eyes and imagine what we can do together with this cascading impact. Did you get chills? Yeah me too!
